Saturday, October 15, 2022, the Branch presented a program on Human Trafficking. The presenter was Renee Cantwell, Co-chair of the Speakers Bureau for The New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking. The Coalition is a fully volunteer-run organization that coordinates statewide community efforts to end sex and labor trafficking in New Jersey. Comprising 200 volunteers and more than 180 affiliates—including nonprofits, faith-based organizations, academics, law enforcement, and direct service providers. AAUW is an affiliate organization.
On September 26, 2022 State Senator Troy Singleton was the guest speaker at the branch meeting. The meeting was at the Burlington Library in Westampton.
Since January 2018, Senator Singleton has represented the 7th Legislative District in the New Jersey Senate. He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2011-2018. Senator Singleton is currently the Majority Whip.
Senator Singleton highlighted women issues in NJ and its impact on the upcoming November election. He also answered questions from the members and guests following his presentation.
